wisdomfromthesisterhood

The Sisterhood is a place to bring your cup of coffee to. Heck, bring the whole pot :). Sit down, relax, and fall in for a while. No divas or meanies allowed. It's about boy brain, kiddos, food, one crazy labrador, autism and a cat in recovery from a back tire incident. Oh the places you'll go :)

Love Always, Gumby

on October 9, 2012

One of my dearest friends is Joe.  His father and mother created Gumby and Pokey.  Gumby was their brainchild.  I adore Joe and was blessed to meet Art before he passed.  I absolutely love the world Joe and Art opened my children up to.  My kids LOVE Gumby and Pokey and that is because Joe has shared Gumby’s world with them.  Most kids their ages don’t know who Gumby is but my kids know ALL about Gumby, Pokey, Prickle and Goo and the Blockheads as well as Minga, Gumbo and Gumba.  Oh, there are more and they are all like good friends to my kiddos.  My children’s rooms are filled with them all.

I talked to Joe today to see if he minded me including Gumby and friends on this blog and, thankfully, being the kind and loving soul he is, he did not.  I know others will post what they like but I just can’t do that.  Joe and his family are too important and Gumby is too special to be used without a blessing.

In the future, I will tell more and share more but, for now, here is Gumby and today, as we are all mired in the negative ads of this election year, I thought Gumby might give some goodness to the day.
