The Sisterhood is a place to bring your cup of coffee to. Heck, bring the whole pot :). Sit down, relax, and fall in for a while. No divas or meanies allowed. It's about boy brain, kiddos, food, one crazy labrador, autism and a cat in recovery from a back tire incident. Oh the places you'll go :)

Friendship: The Well Loved Pieces

on October 19, 2012

I had the pleasure of taking a beautiful walk with a dear friend that I had lost touch with for decades.  She was actually one of my first best friends and I was thrilled, decades later, when we reconnected.  There is something profound about those friends we grow up with.  No matter how much time passes, they are so thoroughly and forever intertwined into who we are that it’s like not a day really passes when we are apart.  We pick up as though no time has passed.  On that day when we had the good fortune of taking a walk together and admiring the very pretty neighborhood we were in, I found this beautiful star on one of the gates we passed.  It reminded me of our friendship and of how sometimes the tried and true, hard worn and well loved pieces of your life are best.

Awww…this is lovely and I feel the same way about you:)…I recognized that star right away! Thank you for putting that into words, I couldn’t have said it better. No wonder there were so many cars and trucks and people there–they all had to pitch in to pay the rent, lol.

    • I thought the same thing! Seriously…it was $2000.00 a night or $10,000.00 a week!!
I have just been so thrilled to reconnect with you and your family and that day with our walk (and trespassing,LOL) was just perfect. There is no one I would rather trespass with than you :).

I’m glad you got to meet some of them–and we were all glad you brought your food in, lol. Our trustee is very diligent in her duties to oversee our inheritance–no snack food! I especially love how we found a private room and within no time had an audience of 7 all circleing us and eavesdropping! Aren’t you especially glad no one was in that glass bathroom, lol? We would have had the advantage with clothes on and a head start 🙂

      • Oh my goodness…YES. So happy no one came home or popped out of a door in that bathroom! I would have just FREAKED and FROZE, LOL!! Everyone at the house was GREAT and I so loved how everyone just gelled and snacked together :).
